Missing Woman Found

The body found in a car at a rest stop on I-135 in Harvey County on Wednesday (June 15, 2017)  has been identified as a 34-year-old woman who had been reported missing.  Sheriff Chad Gay identified the woman as Courtney Eileen Kloster, the Newton Kansan reports. Police do not suspect foul play. Courtney was a graduate of Townview High School in Dallas, the Kansan reports. She attended Hutchinson Community College and earned a Bachelors in Arts in Social Work at Wichita State University. She was to begin graduate school at Wichita State in the fall.  Officers were called at around 3 p.m. Wednesday to the report of an abandoned vehicle at the rest stop just north of the Sedgwick-Harvey county line. The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office said officers then found the body in the car. A Facebook post said she was in her 30s.   Investigators identified the vehicle and connected the woman’s body to a missing person’s case in Newton from Friday. Sheriff Chad Gay said the body had decomposed so badly, they do not have a lot of evidence to worth with.  “We don’t have much to go off with this deal at all,” Sheriff Gay said. “She was reported missing, but right now we don’t have anything suspicious.”  The northbound rest area was closed while Kansas Highway Patrol assisted Harvey County authorities.
