      Roland H. Williams, son of Arthur Barnett and Ella C. Williams was born Jan 10, 1895 near Halstead. He passed away at his home in Topeka Feb. 20, 1960. He was married to Ruby Watts on Feb. 2, 1916. To this union was born one son on June 13, 1927.
      Mr. Williams lived in the Halstead Community until 1939, then for relatively short periods in Wichita, LaCrosse and Hutchinson. In 1943 he moved to Topeka where he was employed as a civil engineer by the Materials Department of the Kansas Highway Comission at the timie of his death.
      He is surviced by his wife, Ruby of the home, son, Dr. Roland Dean Williams of Kansas City, Ks., father. A. B. Williams of Newton, four brothers, Oral of Ulysses, A. W. of Lawron, Okla, I. R. of Halstead, Don E. of Garden City, three sisters, Mrs. Leah Armour, Wichita, Velma Nelson, Winnemucca, Nevada, and Mrs. Vera Hege of Sedgwick, and two granddaughters.
      Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Halstead with burial in the Halstead Cemetery.
