Adler, Evelyn Dick



Evelyn R. Dick Adler, 80, died Friday (Aug. 16, 2002) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 18, 1921 in Caddo County, Okla., to Ed F. and Helen (Dalke) Regier. She married David F. Dick in 1940 in Burrton. He preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Bennie D. Adler in 1969 in Halstead. he preceded her in death in 1971.

She was raised in Burrton and graduated from Burrton High School.

She moved to Newton in 1972. She was a nurse's aide at Newton Medical Center until her retirement in 1983. After retirement, she was a private caregiver. She was a member of First Missionary Church in Newton and TLC at the church.

Survivors include: two sons, Roger Dick and his wife Fran of St. John, and Ronald Dick and his wife Sara of Burrton; two granddaughters, Janon Johnson and her husband Chad of White City, and Kayla Peterson and her husband Brent of Louisburg; three grandsons, Jeremy Dick and Lucas Dick of Burrton, and Cody Dick of Didge City.

She also was preceded in death by: a son, Dennis Dick; two brothers, Bert Regier and Edwin Regier; a sister, Verda Johnson; and a granddaughter, Patrice Dick.

Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Burrton City Cemetery. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Missionary Church with the Rev. Dan Quinlin officiating. Memorials have been established with First Missionary Church in Newton in care of the funeral home.
