Corfman, Bonnie



Bonnie J. Corfman, 74, died Wednesday (June 9, 2010) at her Newton residence. She was born on Oct. 20, 1935, in Whitewater to John and Hazel (Fowler) Chambers.

On July 28, 1971, she married Dale Corfman in Newton.
Bonnie was a graduate of Potwin High School and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Newton. Bonnie was a caring homemaker and enjoyed meeting and visiting with people. She never met a stranger and engaged her family and friends with her lighthearted, happy personality. Bonnie enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and shopping. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her loving family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dale, of the home; daughter, Kimberly and her husband Todd Evans of Wichita; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Chambers; and one sister, Betty Carnahan.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene in Newton, with the Rev. Charles West presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be left with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
