Gustav was married Oct. 14, 1910 to Adina Schroeder, of the Gnadenberg church.(now Grace Hill Mennonite church) Three children, Orlando, Willis and Doris Ruth. At the age of nine years, his parents moved to the farm where he spent his boyhood days and after marriage continued to live on the farm until 1919. Along with farming he operated a dairy for 14 years. After retiring from active farming he was a salesman for a silo company for a number of years, which he continued until the time of his death.
