Andres, Elda M



Elda M. Andres, 89, died Oct. 22, 2007, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
Services were Thursday, Oct. 25, at First Mennonite in Newton, with Pastors Joan Boyer and Clarence Rempel officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
She was born Sept.4, 1918 to Herman and Susie (Neuman) Toevs in Aberdeen, Idaho.
On June 8, 1941 she married Walter Andres in Aberdeen who preceded her in death in 1968.
She was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Newton.
She was a homemaker and farmers wife, a member of the Harvey County Farm Bureau and the Friendship Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Andres and Mary Hardtarfer both of Newton, and Elaine Bingaman of Valley Center; a son, Richard Andres of Newton; a step-brother, Paul Schmidt of Kansas City, Mo., a sister, Dorothy Miller of Hesston; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Florence Bartsch.
Memorial funds have been established with Schowalter Villa and First Mennonite Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114.
