Parents Japtha and Eliza LaFever.

She moved to Beloit, Kansas, in the year 1878, moving to Richland township, Harvey county, in 1881, living there until 1916, when she decided to leave the farm and make her home in Newton, which was her home until her death.

Married William Chambers Nov. 21, 1876, they had sixteen children: Lula, Florence, Jessie, Oscar, Abbie, Clarence, Walter, Charles, Arthur, Virgil, Matilda, Lucretia, Ethel, Samantha, Altie Ann, and Flossie Irene.
