Anna Helene Margarethe Green the daughter of Christian Green and his wife Augusta Gronemann Green was born near Newton December 5, 1882, and was consecrated to God in holy baptism on the last day of the same year by Rev. J. H. F. Hoyer of Valley Center. Her entire life was spent in this community.

She was essentially home loving and found the fulfillment of her life in loving service to the members of her family and neighbors and church. She became an active member of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed church in 1908 and has always proved herself a consistent willing member in all her relations. For the past five years she was the faithful treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society.

One brother preceded her in early youth. Her brother Herman died in Camp Meade, Md., Oct. 5, 1918 and her father w as called home march 4, 1925.

In May of this year she was stricken with the malady that was to become he final summons. Bravely she bore the heavy cross. She went quietly to sleep about 11:00 o'clock in the morning on Saturday Sept. 19, aged 59 years, 9 months and 19 days. Her aged mother, one brother, Adolph, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Kater are looking beyond the grave to a blessed reunion and other relatives and many friends will sorely miss her friendly ministrations.

Funeral services were held from the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dan F. Buchmueller officiating. Entombment was in the Greenwood Abbey.
