Alexander, William

The Newton Kansan

William “Bill” Alexander, 59, died on Sunday (Nov. 7, 2010) at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

He was born on May 24, 1951, in Denver. Bill graduated from Mound City High School, then went on to complete two years at Fort Scott Junior College. Bill also served three years with the U.S. Navy. Following that, he wisely used his G.I. Bill to further his education and attended Wichita State University and achieved his bachelor’s degree and followed with his physician’s assistant degree.

He married Tamera J. Clark on Aug. 14, 2006, in Newton.
Bill and Tammy held a membership with the Father’s House church family in Newton.

Survivors include his wife, Tamera; two sons, Brian and wife Carie Alexander of Hoisington, and Bill and Nicole Stagner of Newton; three daughters, Lisa and Eric Bushnell of Tulsa, Okla., Andrea Alexander of Kansas City, Kan., and Ashley Stagner of Newton; brother, Danny L. and wife Gail of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Robbie and husband John Robertson of Belle Vista, Ark.; two grandchildren, Kyler Bushnell and Gaven Stagner; sister–in-law and brother-in-law, Coleen and Jerry Rodgers of Independence; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Bertha Clark of McPherson; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Pat and Mary Landers; and a daughter, Becky Alexander.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today, with the family greeting from 5 to 6 p.m., at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today at the Father’s House in Newton. Memorial contributions can be made to Harry Hynes Hospice or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
