Nicholas Smith Coble, was born June 13, 1860 in Crawford county, Indiana, near Hardinsburg, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Byron Souder, in this city March 5, 1926 at 11:00 p.m., at the age of 65 years, eight months and 23 days. He moved with his parents to Woodford county, Ill., in September, 1874. His father died there in the spring of 1877.. The mother and her ten children then moved to Crawford county, Kan., in January, 1878, and in January, 1879, came to Harvey county. Mr. Coble was married August 8, 1883 to Cora Marshall, who preceded him in death, she having passed away April 24, 1921. To this union eight children were born, four dying in infancy. The relatives left to mourn the departure ofr this good man are three daughters, Mrs. Rex C. Shafer, Mrs. Byron Souder of Newton, Mrs. Perry W. Oakes of Wichita, one son Moin H. Coble of Topeka, also six brothers, John, Albert, Pence, Hugh, Seba and Ottis Coble and one sister, Mrs. Marietta Stewart.

Mr. Coble had been in failing heath for five years, culminating in death, Friday evening, March 5, 1926.

Funeral services were held at the home, 411 East Eighth, Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. D. H. Switzer, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment was in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery.
