Oklahoma Crash Fatal to Three Newton Persons

Three Newtonians and the sister of two other Newton residents were killed Saturday in a head-on crash near Ponca City, Okla.
Dead are: Mrs. Martha Bell Anderson, 71 of 304 W. 4th St.
Donald Fidelis White 22, of 801 E. 11th St.
Henry Albert Jackson Jr., 19, of 117 E. 12th St.
Mrs. Leona Ryder, 37, of Kansas City, Mo. sister of Mrs. Wayne Lyon and S.B. Griswold of this City.

THREE OTHER occupants of the Newton car, Floyd Eugene Wright, 23, Gloria Rossiter, 13, and Willie Gene Anderson, 13, were injured and the Rev. George Ryder, husband of Mrs. Ryder, was hospitalized with critical injuries.
Their daughter, Merilyn Ryder, 5, suffered bruises and is staying with relatives.
The Newtonians had gone to Oklahoma to visit relitives and the Ryders were enroute to Newton after visiting a brother of Mrs. Ryder, Leslie Griswold, in Shawnee, Okla., when the crash occured.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ryder will be conducted Tuesday afternoon in Rossville, Kans. She also is survived by her parents.
Her husband, whose condition was reported slightly improved late yesterday, is Pastor of the Methodist Church in Kansas City.

DOUBLE FUNERAL services for Mrs. Anderson and the Jackson Youth will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Draper's Funeral Home. The Rev. E.G. Green will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson, a native of Emporia, is survived by a son, Louis, and a daughter, Mrs. Patrick Rossiter, both of Newton; two sisters, Mrs Flossie Davis of Passidena, Calif.; two brothers Theodore Snow of Emporia and Vernon Snoe of Pueblo Colo., and six grandchildren. She was a member of the A.M.E. Church.
Henry Jackson is survived by his mother, Mrs. Licy Williams of Hutchinson; two half sisters, Claudis and Shirley Jackson of Hutchinson; two brothers Cedric Jackson of Newton and Donald Jackson of Shawnee; His grandmother, Mrs. Clara Dickinson of Newton, and his grandfather, Albert Jackson of Shwanee.
