Thelma Holden
Thelma Holden, 82, of 1200 E. Seventh, died Sunday (Dec. 5, 1999) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. She was a 35 year clerk employee from Santa Fe Railroad, where she retired July 7, 1977.
She was born June 30, 1917, in Horton to Charles Richard and Ortha Blanche (Schoonover) Holden.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Topeka and Santa Fe Old Timers Club.
She was a 1935 graduate of Horton High School.
Survivors include two nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Holden; and two sisters, Esther Purl and Betty Meyer.
Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Horton City Cemetery with the Rev. Gordon Smith from First United Methodist Church in Horton officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with Presbyterian Manor or Good Samaritan Fund in care of the funeral home.
