Irwin Eduardo Lemus, 30, of Newton, died Saturday (Dec. 25, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born April 22, 1969, in San Salvador, El Salvador to Eduardo and Riena (Penada) Lemus. His mother survives of Spain.
He attended Newton public schools and was a 1988 graduate of Newton High School. He had attended First Church of the Nazarene.
He collected football and baseball cards. He enjoyed fishing, the Oakland Raiders and auto repair.
Other survivors include: one son, Alexander "Alex" Eduardo Lemus of Hesston; two sisters, Damaris Lemus of El Salvador and Janet H. Lemus of McPherson; one brother, Eric Eduardo Lemus of McPherson; grandmother, Hortencia Trujillo of El Salvador; one step brother, Kelly Villalobos of Hutchinson; step mother, Linda A. Lemus of McPherson; and step grandmother, Carmen Sauceda of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Charles Edward Lemus.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charles Baker from New Life Four Square in McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call until 6:30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with Irwin Lemus Memorial Fund for Alex's education in care of Midland National Bank in Newton.
