Jayne M Purcell

Jayne Marie Purcell, 82, died Jan. 10, 2009 at Northwest Community Hospital in Inverness, Ill. She was born Oct. 13, 1926 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, daughter of Ben and Prudence Dykman Koepke. Jayne lived most of her adult life in the Hutchinson area. While at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson, Jayne became an expert quilter and won numerous ribbons at the Kansas State Fair. She made several quilts that were donated to the annual Mennonite Manor quilt auction. As her children and grandchildren married she would make a unique "marriage quilt" for them. Following the death of her husband, Joe, she moved to the Chicato area to be near her daughter.

On Sept 24, 1949 she married Joe C. Purcell in Hutchinson. He died March 12, 2004. Survivors include: son, Tony, McKinney, Texas; daughter Marji Purcell Gates, Wheaton, Ill.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of her life will be held this spring in Burrton.
