Marion Oursler, manager of the Southside J. S. Dillon & Sons store, died Friday night, December 16, afer having been seriously ill for several days with an acute attack affecting his kidneys. He had been ill for several weeks and his condition steadily grew worse.

Marion Corydon Oursler was born in Newton January 4, 1909, the son of the late Thomas M. and Mrs. Nina Oursler. The mother survived and lives at 130 West Tenth Street, Newton. He lived here his entire life and attended Newton schools.

On August 8, 1930 he married Dolores Zinn who survives with their three children, Dolores Roberta, Janice Kay and Richard Marion, all of the home, 525 East 4th. He also leaves a brother, Raymond E. Oursler of Newton; three half-brothers, John Hoover of Walden, Colorado; Harold Hoover of Newton and Homer Oursler of Sedgwick; one half-sister, Mrs. Myrtle Bair of Twin Falals, Idaho and one foster sister, Mrs. Maartha Shireman, Newton.

He was a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic lodge, Eastern Star, B.P.O. Elks and the Lions, being a past president of that club.

A month after his marriage he was made assistant manager of the Southside Dillons store and was made manager in 1936. He was a popular merchant among Newton people and was well known throughout this area.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church with Rev. Forrest E. Rohl, officiating. Burial was in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.
