Obituary

Robert J. Considine, 83, lumber broker for Continental Timber of Valley Center, Ks. died Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. He was born August 1, 1927 on the family farm outside of Halstead to John W. and Mildred Unruh Considine. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served in the U. S. Army and was a member of Ruth-Wilson Post 231 and the Halstead Gun Club.

He was the former comissioner of the Jayhawk Baseball League and managed the Halstead Cowboys, Bowers Homes, Wray Roofers and Hutchinson Broncs semi-pro baseball teams.

He married Betty Ruth Lingreen at Halstead on November 29, 1952. She preceded him in death August 2, 2002.

Survivors: son, Barry (Kerrie) of Burrton; daughter, Tami (Rick) Clark, Paola, Ks; grandson, Zane Clark, Paola, granddaughter Kortney Clark Springhill; brother, Dean(Judy) Considine, Middletown, Mc; sister, Margaret (William) Bergkamp, Halstead. He was preceded by a brother William Considine and a sister, Marie McGinn.

Committal services were Saturday May 21 at the Halstead Cemetery. A Memorial Mass was at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
