Winifred Ice Dewell, 62, of Tulsa Okla., formerly of Newton, a homemaker, died Sunday (Jan. 3, 1988) at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Tulsa. Additional memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Newton, with Revs. Michael Combs and James Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the Presbyterian Manor Dining Room following burial.
She was born March 31, 1925, in Newton, the daughter of C. Fred and Mildred J Branine Ice of Newton, who survive. On Aug. 14, 1947, she married John Harrison Dewell in Newton. He died Nov. 18, 1987.
She was a member off St. John's Episcopal Church, PEO, Kappa Alpha Theta and Philbrook Art Association. She was a graduate of Newton High School and University of Kansas.
Other survivors include one daughter, Margaret Porter of Ottawa; One brother, Theodore B. Ice of Newton; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by onedaughter, Jane E. Osborne, and one grandson.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Episcopal Church in Tulsa or the American Cancer Society.
