Obituary

John W. Considine, 97, Halstead, died August 15, 1993 at the Regency Health Care Center in Halstead. He was born April 23, 1896 at Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of John P. and Catherine Burke Considine. A longtime Halstead resident, he was a retired farmer and stockman.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the American Letion Post No. 231, both at Halstead. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War I.

He married Mildred M. Unruh at Wichita on October 20, 1926 at Wichita. She preceded him in death on July 23, 1991.

Survivors: three sons, Robert J. Consieine and William L. Considine, both of Halstead and Dean H. Considine, Middletown, Maryland; daughter, Margaret Ann Bergkamp, Halstead; two sisters, Anna Margaret Hickel, Ellinwood and Sister Veronica Considine, Wichita; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie McGinn on August 3, 1992; two brothers, Jim Considine and Mike Considine and a sister, Mary Considine.

Rosary was Wednesday, August 18 at the Church. Funeral services were at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead on August 19. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
