Lloyd Dodd Montgomery

Lloyd Dodd Montgomery, 88, Newton, formerly of Halstead, died Sunday, April 14, 1996 at Newton Medical Center, Newton. He was born April 25, 1907 at Nickelville, Pennsulvania, the son of Edward and Nellie Jane Dodd Montgomery. A Halstead resident for 10 years, moving to Newton, four months ago, he was a retired grocer from Universal City, Texas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Universal City, Texas.

On July 22, 1939, he married Dorothy B. Ellenberger in Pennsylvania. She died November 19, 1986.

Survivors: son, Dr. L. Dan Montgomery, Halstead; daughter, Mary Jane Reeves, McMurray, Pennsylvania; brother, George Montgomery, Ocala, Florida; sister, Grace Dean, Amherst, Massachusetts and four grandchildren.


Funeral was Tueday, April 16 at Kaufman Funeral Home with the Rev. James A. Mardock presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery, Halstead, Kansas.
