Aillon, Alejandro J.

Alejandro J. Aillon, M.D., 60, Wichita, formerly of Halstead, died Monday, October 4, 1999 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, in Wichita.
He was born Janury 30, 1939 at Cartagena, Columbia, South America, the son of Ulpiano and Matilda Perez-Calvo Aillon. He was a cardio-thoracic surgeon, and had served as Chief of Surgery at Halstead Hospital and chairman of the Halstead Hospital Department of Surgery.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Fellow of the American College of Chest Surgeons; Fellow American College of Surgeons; American Medical Association; Fellow American College of Cardiologisgs; Society of Thoracic Surgery; Fellow American College of Chest Physicians; International Society for Endovascular Surgery; American Society of Cardiovascular Interventionists. He was a veteran having served two years in the U.S. Navy as Lt. Commander.

Survivors: two sons; Alex Aillon and Daniel Aillon, both of Wichita; two daughters, Julie Clark, Boise, I daho and Natalie Aillon, Wichita; broher, Dr. Gonzalo Aillon, Dallas, Texas and two grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be Friday, October 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead with Father James R. O'Shea presiding. Wake service is Thursday October 7 at Kaufman Funeral home. Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery.
