Jake H. Ensz, 82, Halstead, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, He was born September 10, 1918 at rural Inman, son of Herman and Lizzie Wiens Ensz. On November 16, 1941 he married Katheryn Toews at Inman. She survives.

He was the former owner/operator of Ensz Thriftway and he was a bulk truck driver for Farmers Co-op, both of Halstead. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; Lions Club and was a life member of the Halstead Hospital Lay Advisory Board, all of Halstead.

Survivors: son, Clark Ensz, Wichita; two daughters, Marilyn Kae Decker and June Jacob, Wichita; four brothers, Alvin Ensz, Inman; George Ensz and Clarence Ensz, Hutchinson and H. Wayne Ensz, Reedley, California; sister, Susie Froese, Inman; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Jay Ensz; four brothers, Ike Ensz; Vernie Ensz; Harold Enwsz and Abe Ensz and a sister, Lizzie Enwsz.

Services were held April 20 at the Church in Halstad with Rev. James Mardock presiding. Burial was in the Inman Cemetery, Inman, Kansas.
