Mrs. Lillie Zimmerman Nicholson, 83, of Newton, died Thursday, November 20, 1975 at Axtell Christian Hospital in Newton. She was the daughter of David T. and Jane Rowlands Davis and was born July 1, 1892 in Burrton. She married Edward L. Nicholson on June 12, 1954 at Wellington. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1971.

Mrs. Nicholson was a retired school teacher who had taught grade school through college level. She was a member of Trinity Heights United Methodist Church of Newton; a life member of Mt. Olivert chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Mr. Hope; a member of the Kansas Authors Club; a charter member of Kansas Retired Teachers Assn.; a life member of Kansas State Teachers Assn; a member of Kansas Federation of Women's Democratic Club; and of the Harvey County Federation of Women's Democratic Club.

Survivors: two step-sons, Edward L. Nicholson Jr., Knoxville, Tennessee and Roger Nicholson, Huntsville, Alabama; one step-daughter, Mrs. R. L. (Barbasra Gallaheer), Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Olwen H. Rife, Burrton and Mrs. Georgia Boise, Fairfield, Montana; and eight step grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 22 at the Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Newton with Rev. James Iwig officiating. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery. Memorials to Harvey County Heart Association.
