Viola M Madajewski

Viola Marie Jadajewski, 88, Halsted, mother of former Halstead resident, Barbara Furlong, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation.

She moved to Halstead in 1999 from Cartaret, New Jersey, where she had lived for 50 years. She was born April 10, 1916 at Sugar Notch, Pennsylvania, daughter of Walter and Josephine Wojciki Heratka. She was a salesperson for Jack & Jill's Children's Clothing Shop in Perthanboy, New Jersey.

She married Leo Madajewski February 3, 1940 in Sugar Notch. He died March 4, 1995. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead.

Survivors: son, Leo Madajewski, Las Vegas, Nevada; two aughters, Barbara Furlong, Las Vegas, Nevada; Elizabeth Brrucato, Cartaret; four sisters, Leona Swiontck,
Inkerman, Pennsylvania; Theresa Sico, Mira Loma, California; Bernadine Turner, Rockaway, New Jersey and Regina Moschini, Nanticoke, Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, John Neratka, Leonard Neratka and Joseph Neratka; foour sisters, Stella Neratka; Pearl Elick; Ester Gellespie; and Mary Sapek and grandson, Edward A. Furlong.

Services were held April 27 at Kaufman Funeral Home. Cremation followed with inurnment in the Halstead Cenetery.
