Dorothy E (Base) Shive

Dorothy Evelyn Shive, 83, Whitewater, former Burrton resident, died Thursday, January 8, 2004 at Wheatstate Manor, Whitewater. She was born August 9, 1920 at Burrton, daughter of Adam and Caroline Unruh Base.

She had been a resident of Burrton until 2000 when she moved to Whitewater. She was a homemaker and a member of Burrton Christian Church, Burrton.

On November 16, 1934, she married Keith M. Shive at St. John. He preceded her in death January 2, 1991.

Survivowrs include a son, Gary Shive, Newton; daughter, Debra Sheldon, Halstead; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, John Base, Tobe Base, Jake Base, Henry Base and Pete Base; six sisters, Goldie Hinners, Pearl Clark, Rose Gardener, Susie Pankrat, Martha Smith and Bertha Wencel.

Services were held Monday, January 12, 2004 at the Church in Burrton. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
