Albertson, Rebecca Fouts

   Rebecca Fouts Albertson, wife of W. R. Albertson died at her home in Sedgwick Sunday night, February  17, 1907.  She was born in Wayne County Indiana on April 9, 1830 and was 76 years, 10 months and 8 days old.  She was married to W. R. Albertson September 30, 1852 and for almost 55 years walked by his side as a faithful companion and helpmate.

   She was the mother of five chiodren, two of whom survive her, J. R. Albertson of Pleasanton, California and Mrs. Martha Shaw, who resided with her parents.  Mrs. Albertson was grandmother to 22 children, 10 of whom are dead and great grandmother to 10 great grandchidren, one who is dead.

   In 1856 the family moved from Indiana to Iowa and from there to Kansas in 1856, settling in what is now Pottawatomie County.  A year later, they returned to Indiana.  After a residence of three years in Wayne County, they moved to Hay County County, Indiana where they remained until they returned to Kansas in 1882.
