James Delmer Blubaugh, 95, of Burrton, died and will be remembered at a memorial service May 11, 2013 at Burrton United Methodist Church. He was born October 28, 1917 at Grace H ospital iin Hutchinson, son of Earl Elmer Blubaugh
and Della Mabel Smith Blubaugh of Burrton.
In 1947 he was married to Juanita Fae Kincaid at the Pleasant Grove Church. He was a member of Burrton United Methodist Church and was a member and Past President of the USD 369 Burrton School Board. He was also a past Master and a 74 year member of Mount Hope Masonic Lodge; The Scottish Rite; a 32nd KCCHDegree Member; a memberof the Midian Shrine of Wichita; past captain of Midian Antique Auto Club and a member of the Masonic High Twelve of Hutchinson.
In 1994 he was District Deputy Guard Master of the Grand Lodge of Kansas. In 1995 and 1996 he served as Area District Deputy. In 1995 he received the Outstanding Mason Award.
He was a veteran of WWII. He served as an Electrician Mate First Class aboard the Battleship Nevada. He was a life member of the AMETS of Hutchinson and was a member of the American Legion of Mt. Hope.
Survivors: wife of the home; daughter, Dixie Brown, Indiana; son V. J. Blubaugh and wife Susan, Haven; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; sister, Earlene Zimmerman, Salina and Joan Rutkowski. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Tom Brown.
Private burial will be held at Star Cemetery.
