Marie S. Hiebert
Marie S. Hiebert, 96, 3001 Ivy Drive,
died Monday (April 6, 1998) at Kidron Bethel Health Care in North
Newton.
She was born March 23, 1902, in Bingham
Lake, Minn., to Frank J. Penner and Sara Klaassen Penner. She married
John M. Hiebert Oct. 10, 1929, in Mountain Lake, Minn. He preceded
her in death in 1936.
She was employed by Epp Mercantile in
Mountain Lake, Minn. She was a member of the Bethel College Mennonite
Church in North Newton. She served with the Mennonite Central
Committee in Basel, Switzerland, from 1957 to 1958. She attended
Mountain Lake High School.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting,
reading, music, baking and gardening.
Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth
J. Hiebert of Philadelphia, Pa., and Harvey C. Hiebert and John M.
Hiebert, both of North Newton; two sisters, Tina Severson of Windom,
Minn., and Anne Toren of Worthington, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two
brothers, Frank Penner and Isaac Penner; and two sisters, Margaret
Struble and Sarah Young.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m.
Friday at Bethel College Mennonite Church with Pastor Darrell Fast
officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen
Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday
at the funeral home.
