Dick R. Baldwin
Dick R. Baldwin, 85, 1124 Old Main,
retired service manager and master mechanic for Holstein's Motors in
Newton, died Tuesday (June 9, 1998) at Via Christi Regional Medical
Center, St. Francis Campus.
He was born Jan. 4, 1913, in Albion,
Mich., to Miles Fred Baldwin and Blanche Pearl (Lewis) Baldwin. He
married Margaret O. Davison on Feb. 16, 1937, in Healey. She preceded
him in death Feb. 9, 1991.
He was a member of the First United
Methodist Church, Newton Senior Center, Golden Choir and the Blow
Hard musical group, all of Newton and the Hutchinson Horseless
Carriage Club. He lived in Newton since 1974.
Survivors include: three sons, Edward
Baldwin of Colby, James R. Baldwin of Paisley, Ore., and David L.
Baldwin of Glide, Ore.; two daughters, Bobby Stone of Hollister, Mo.,
and Cindy Calhoun of Wichita; one brother, Wayne Baldwin of
McPherson; one sister, Betty Carlson of Rogers, Ark.; nine
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Wright from
Central Christian Church in Wichita officiating. Burial will be in
the Empire Cemetery in Galva. Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at
Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
the Newton Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
