Edna Frances Abplanalp

Edna Frances Abplanalp, 87, formerly of El Dorado, homemaker, died Sunday (Aug. 16, 1998) at Newton Presbyterian Manor.

She was born Jan. 12, 1911, in Peabody to Alfred James and Mary Elizabeth (Harlan) Wilber. She married Thomas Abplanalp Jan. 5, 1928, in Newton. He preceded her in death Jan. 10, 1991.

During World War II she worked at Beech Aircraft and for many years was an Avon representative in the El Dorado and Butler County area.

Survivors include: three daughters, Thelma Gabel of El Dorado, Joan Gilmore of Newton and Linda Strasser of Whitewater; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 20, 1998) at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in the Pleasant Center Cemetery in rural Burns.

Memorials have been established with American Diabetes Association and Pleasant Center Cemetery Improvement Fund in care of Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, 224 West Ash, El Dorado, KS 67042.
