Vergia M. McCann
Vergia M. McCann, 56, of Newton, died
Friday (Nov. 13, 1998) at Halstead Hospital in Halstead.
She was born May 12, 1942, in Fresno,
Calif., to Robert and Reba (Fowler) Webb. On May 13, 1975, she
married Donald R. McCann in Newton. He survives. She was a homemaker
who moved to Newton in 1972.
Other survivors include: her father,
Robert Webb of Fresno, Calif.; two daughters, Debi Loewen of
Hutchinson and Terri Roethler Monarez of Newton; stepson Duane McCann
of Moundridge; brother, Robert Webb of Fresno; two stepdaughters,
Vicky McCann and Becky Gillispie, both of Newton; sister, Janet
Reeves of Morrow Bay, Calif.; six grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two
step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. MyCherie Zimmerman of the
First Christian Church in Newton officiating.
Burial will be in the Hesston City
Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9
p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established with
Breast Cancer Research with the American Cancer Society in care of
the funeral home.
