LaReta Freeburne

ABERDEEN, Idaho -- LaReta Freeburne, 82, homemaker, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday (Dec. 1, 1998) in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born July 21, 1916, in Newton to George A. and Effaye A. (Sherman) Sharp in Newton. She married Marshall John "Jack" Freeburne Aug. 25, 1935, in Newton. He preceded her in death June 15, 1983.

She was a member of Aberdeen First Mennonite Church in Aberdeen, Idaho. She served on the Aberdeen Senior Citizens Board. She enjoyed working with ceramics and crafts with her friends.

Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Freeburne of Aberdeen and Ted Freeburne of San Francisco; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Sharp and Don Sharp; one sister, Bonita Simmons; and her parents.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. today in Aberdeen. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton with the Rev. MyCherie Zimmerman of the First Christian Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Family will greet friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.

Memorials have been established with First Mennonite Church of Aberdeen or the Aberdeen Senior Citizens in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
