Anna Hiebert

GOESSEL -- Anna Hiebert, 90, retired homemaker, died Saturday (May 8, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born March 14, 1909, in Marion County to John J. and Anna (Brandt) Flaming. She married Menno M. Hiebert April 14, 1929, in Goessel. He preceded her in death March 3, 1993.

She was a lifelong Goessel area resident except for several years when she lived in Idaho. She and her husband lived on a farm in rural Goessel until moving to Goessel in 1976.

Survivors include: three sons, Merlin Hiebert of rural Canton, Melvin Hiebert of North Newton and Larry Hiebert of Valley Center; two daughters, Evelyn Matz of Lincolnville and DeLora Funk of rural Hillsboro; one sister, Susie Goertzen of Walton; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with the Rev. James Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the Alexanderwohl Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family greeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.


Memorials have been established with Bethesda Home in care of the funeral home.
