Doris Louise (Just) Ratzlaff

Doris Louise (Just) Ratzlaff went home to her Lord on Oct. 16, 2014.

She was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Dalhart, Texas, to Pete J. Just and Julia (Gaede) Just. She grew up in the Hillsboro area and graduated from Hillsboro High School. On Sept. 1, 1955, she married Johnnie Ratzlaff in Hillsboro. They were married 59 years. He survives of the home.  Doris was employed for many years as a sales associate and retired from Sears in Newton. She enjoyed the many friendships she made there with co-workers and customers. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and attending her grandchildren's activities. Some of her other hobbies included gardening, reading, camping, fishing and travel.

Other survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Clough and son-in-law, Calvin of Wichita, and Julie Preston and son-in-law, Jon of North Newton; one brother, Raymond Just and wife, Marjorie of Hillsboro; and grandchildren, Matthew Clough, Hannah Clough, Kara Clough, Kyle Preston and Cale Preston.  Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Agnes (Seibel) Just.

A memorial has been set up for Harry Hynes Hospice and the Parkinson's Association, in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114.  A private family burial was conducted.
