Obituary

Elmer Hoyt Duty, State Farm Insurance agent in Newton, Kansas for 31 years passed away on March 3rd, 2015 in Scottsdale, AZ while vacationing. He was born on October 11, 1931 in Kingman, KS to Wayne and Ruth Duty. He served two years in the US Army and ten years with the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a telegrapher.

He is survived by his spouse Barbara of sixty years, his two sons and wife's, Lawrence and Cindy, Martin and Elizabeth. His two granddaughters Kelly and husband Chris Torok, Rachael Duty and friend Rygh Galloway, three step grandsons, and four step great grandchildren. And his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

While living in Newton, Hoyt worked with Junior Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers, and Methodist Youthville. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Camdenton, Mo. Hoyt was an avid golfer and spent much of his free time on a golf course. Hoyt and his family enjoyed camping and boating, and he was a daredevil on water skis.

Memorial service is pending until his wife can return to their home in Missouri.
