Smith, Mary Hege, 83, retired social worker for the State of Kansas, died Saturday, February 5, 2005. She was born in Wichita, KS on February 19, 1921. Memorial Service 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Mary graduated from Wichita East High School in 1938 and earned her BA in Liberal Arts at Wichita University in 1942. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Kerry Smith, parents, Albert Edward Hege and Margaret Edna Todd Hege, sisters, Helen Craig Corman and Virginia Todd Hege. She is survived by her sons, L. Todd Smith and wife Nancy and Terry Hege Smith and wife Vicki all of Wichita; five grandchildren, Scott Radley Smith and wife Lisa of Shawnee, KS, Douglas Todd Smith and wife Jennifer of Wichita, Julie Kristina Rees and husband Dr. Scott Rees of Wichita, Jennifer Lynn Smith Foote of Lady Lake, FL and Amy Elizabeth Smith of Overland Park, KS; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Radley Rees, Jackson Scott Rees, Wesley Scott Smith and Avery Elizabeth Smith.
