Obituary
JoAnn Brown was born in Hoisington on
Sept. 3, 1947. She died at Schowalter Villa, in Hesston, on April 11,
2016.
She was a member of Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton, as well as a member of the VFW
Auxiliary in Newton.
She was preceded in death by husband,
Lloyd Brown; parents Adolph and Mary Gerritzen; a sister, Mary
Kaiser; and a brother, Jerome Gerritzen.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn
Hammerschmidt of Hoisington; a brother, Robert Gerritzen (Erma) also
of Hoisington; and a sister, Teresa Gerritzen of Hays; as well as
four nieces and two nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held
at the VFW on Thursday, April 14th, at 5 p.m.
Viewing will also be held Thursday,
April 14, at Petersen Funeral Home from 1 to 5 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will take
place in Hoisington through the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
Memorials can be given to St. Jude's
Children Research Hospital.
