Obituary

Jeffrey C. "Jeff" Fast, 44, of Andover passed away suddenly on Thursday (June 16, 2016) in Houston, Texas.

Jeff was born on April 16, 1972, in Newton, the son of Donald H. and Charmaine F. Fast. Jeff was baptized in 1988 upon his confession of faith.

Jeff had a passion for all things audio/video. He had a very wide, eclectic taste for music and enjoyed sharing it with whomever was around. He played soccer in middle school and football in high school and loved watching these sports on television. He loved spending time with his family and had recently returned from a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park.

Jeff was also involved with the Andover YMCA Men's Club. Since childhood, he demonstrated a kind heart by always showing compassion and concern for others.

Jeff graduated from Newton High School in 1990 and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University in 1995. Shortly after graduating, Jeff took a position with Koch Industries in Pine Bend, Minnesota.

Jeff and Karen were united in marriage on July 15, 1995, at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton. Together they celebrated 20 years of marriage and were blessed with their daughters, Katelyn Nicole in 2000 and Jennifer Rene in 2002. Jeff and Karen moved their family back to Kansas in 2005 for a position at Koch headquarters.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Charmaine Fast, both maternal and paternal grandparents; Rev. Gerhard and Pauline Peters, Henry L. and Anna Fast; as well as his uncle, Paul Peters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Karen Fast of Andover; daughters, Katelyn and Jennifer; father, Donald H. (Diane J.) Fast of Newton; sister, Amanda N. (Fred) Fouts of Olathe; their children Hayden and Taylor; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services for Jeff will be at 2 p.m. Saturday (June 25, 2016) at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Katelyn and Jennifer Fast College Fund, c/o Intrust Bank, 308 W. Central Ave., Andover, KS 67002.
