Obituary
Joseph Lloyd "Joe" Allen, 89,
passed away Tuesday (Aug. 16, 2016) in Wichita. Joe was born to Loyd
and Rose (Padlasek) Allen on Dec. 12, 1926, in Wilson.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII
after which he married his late wife, Martha (Regier), in August
1950. They were married for 46 years. He married Pat, his loving wife
of 18 years, in July 1998. During his life, Joe worked drilling wells
for Layne Western Company, was Chief Operator at Mission Water Plant,
Newton, owner and operator of Allen's Registered Guernsey Dairy,
Halstead, driver for Hertz Car Rental and a real estate agent for
Goering Realty, Moundridge.
He is preceded in death by parents Loyd
and Rose, wife Martha and sister Dr. Almeda Ann Decker, Chicago.
Allen is survived by wife, Pat;
children, Kathy (Garret) Hampel, Karla (Chet) Scudder, all of
Wichita, and Karen (Bruce) Lee, Topeka; step-children, Doug Eddy,
Florence, Jan (Chris) Johnson, Wichita, Jo (Greg) Umscheid, Topeka;
grandchildren, Dwayne, Kara and Joseph; step-grandchildren, Tim and
Justine; and step-great-grandson, Bryler.
A visitation will be held Friday (Aug.
19, 2016) at Resthaven Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services
will be held 10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 20, 2016) at Aldersgate United
Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Aldersgate UMC,
7901 W. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS, 67205 and Harry Hynes Memorial
Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita KS, 67202.
