Obituary
Rebecca Lois "Becky" Voth,
64, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Newton Medical Center,
under the kind care of her co-workers. Becky developed respiratory
problems in May that worsened and were diagnosed as cancer. She was
born Sept. 19, 1951, in Hardin, Montana to Malcolm and Esther (Boehr)
Wenger.
On Sept. 9, 1989, Becky married Kenneth
R. Voth and he survives of the home. A graduate of Newton High
School, Becky received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from
Goshen College. Her work history included Goshen Hospital, Goshen,
Indiana; school nurse in Busby, Montana; nurse at Axtell Christian
Hospital and Newton Medical Center, Newton.
Becky was baptized at Lame Deer Church
in Montana, April 10, 1966. She was a member of New Creation
Fellowship Church in Newton and her commitment to Jesus and church
were very important to her.
Becky is survived by her mother Esther
Wenger of North Newton; husband Kenneth R. Voth of Newton; sisters
Betsy and Randall Kaufman of Windom, Ann Wenger of Goshen, Indiana
and Grace Wenger of Newton; brothers-in-law Konrad Ege of Mt. Ranier,
Maryland, Allen Voth of Denver, Colorado, Don and Bonnie Voth of
Newton; sisters-in-law Sherry Voth of Newton and Arlene Carter of
Newton; cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
father, one sister, Martha Wenger, and brother-in-law Raymond Voth.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m.
Tuesday (August 30, 2016) at Shalom Mennonite Church in Newton with
Pastor Derrick Ramer presiding.
All are welcome to the burial at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at the Eastlawn Cemetery near Zimmerdale. Visitation will be
5 to 9 p.m. Monday (Aug. 29, 2016) at the Petersen Funeral Home with
the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers or gifts and in the
spirit of a Cheyenne "Give-away" (in which gifts are given
away in honor of a person), we invite you to extend a kindness to
another person in honor of Becky.
