Cora M. Berger
Cora M. Berger, 85, 128 E. 14th St., a homemaker, died Friday (March 3, 1990) at Newton Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Petersen's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Mitzel officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Zimmerdale.
She was born March 3, 1904, in Harvey County, the daughter of Perry and Etta (Lyons) Williams. On June 25, 1928, she married Reinold Berger in Newton. He died April 22, 1983. She was a longtime Newton resident.
Survivors include six sons, Wilbur and Donald, both of Newton, Ervin of Clearwater, Allen of Haysville, Bill of Cleveland, Tenn., and Nelson of Towanda; four daughters, Etta Mae Welty of Wichita, Bonnie Emerson of Topeka, Wilma Johnson of Kansas City, Kan. and Marjorie Koppenhaver of Hesston; three sisters, Ruth Funk and Dorothy Ratzlaff, both of Wichita, and Alma Koeneman of Peabody; 33 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and until service time Tuesday at Petersen's Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Newton Area Senior Center.
