Obituary
Harry J. Pritchett, 98, died Wednesday
(March 16, 2017) at Newton Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1918,
in El Dorado, to Harry B. and Sarah L. (Pyle) Pritchett. On Sept. 15,
1940, he married Lucy V. Campbell at the Chase County Courthouse in
Cottonwood Falls. She survives of the home.
Harry served his country during World
War II, driving a jeep for officers in England, France and Germany.
After the war, Harry worked as a truck driver for various places,
including driving a beer truck. Harry retired from the Chase County
Highway Department.
Harry had a great love for his wife and
family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was proud to have gone
on a Kansas Honor Flight, where he and his wife got to experience the
meaningful trip together, visiting the World War II monument and
other meaningful sites in Washington DC.
Harry and Lucy have enjoyed their
retirement at Kidron Bethel in North Newton and cherish the friends
they made during their years there. In addition to enjoying the
company of their friends, Harry enjoyed watching old westerns on TV.
His smile and gentle humor will be
greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Lucy of the
home: sons, Danny Pritchett of Clearwater and Tommy Pritchett of
Peabody; daughters, Connie Dick of Emporia and Leta DeMayo of
Augusta. He is also survived by one sister, Norma Bjorge of Lake of
the Ozarks, Missouri; He is also survived by a host of grandchildren;
great grandchildren; and many "adopted" grandchildren, all
of whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and three sisters.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m.
Thursday (March 23, 2017) at Cottonwood Falls Baptist Church in
Cottonwood Falls, with Pastor Tim Evans presiding. A graveside
committal with military honors will follow at the Strong City
Cemetery.

Cottonwood Falls Baptist Church, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
