Irven L. Conner Jr., 81, of Newton, a retired tool grinder at Hesston Corp., died on Wednesday (Jan. 4, 2012) at Newton Medical Center. He was born on July 21, 1930, in Louisville, Ky., the son of Irven L. Sr. and Edna Catherine (Miller) Conner. On Sept. 20, 1952, he married Shirley Ann Hardin in Louisville. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2000. Survivors include sons, Irven L. Conner III and wife, Terri of McPherson, and Mark Conner and wife, Debbie of Hillsboro; daughter, Sandra Heim and companion, Rick Heim of McPherson; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Victor Conner, and a son-in-law, Keith Heim.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at Canton Township Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
