Evan Bergman
Obituary
Evan Bergman, 74, died on Monday (June 28, 2010) at his home
in Newton.
He was born on April 3, 1936, to John L. and Leona (Jantz)
Bergman in Salina.
Evan served in the U.S. Air Force from June 1953 to January
1959.
On May 14, 1963, he married Cheryl Lyne in Wichita.
Evan was a member of the American Legion and the Eagle's
Club, both in Newton.
He was employed by FedEx for 17 years and retired in 2003.
Upon his retirement, he enjoyed playing pool, fishing and going to the casinos.
He attended Newton Bible Church in Newton.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; daughters, Cherie and
husband Brad Ryan of Newton and Deb Salada of Salina; sons, Cary Bergman of
Florida, Jerry Bergman of Salina and Lonnie Bergman of Salina; brother, Willis
Bergman of Wichita; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two daughters, Cynthia and
Tamberli; a sister, Daveda Klinner, and his parents.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Church of
The First Born, 125 E. 10th in Newton.
A private family burial will be held.
