Elva A. Ades
Elva A. Ades, 91, died Tuesday (March 9, 2010) at Newton
Medical Center.
She was born on Dec. 21, 1918, in Newton to Austin David and
Nettie (Weaver) Neuhauser.
She married Frances Ades. He preceded her in death on May
21, 1986.
Elva was a member of the Newton Veterans of Foreign Wars
Auxiliary. She was a seamstress and sewed drapes in the Newton area. Elva
enjoyed bowling for more than 60 years.
She looked forward to spending time with her loving family
and enjoyed the friends she made while living at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She is survived by two sons, Harry and Laura Wolfe of
Newton, and Ed and Judy Wolfe of Newton; a granddaughter, Hilary Wolfe;
sister-in-law, Ann Neuhauser of Wichita; two step-daughters, Pat Houser of
Mississippi and Kay Hooker of California; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Ades
of Decatur, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry
Neuhauser; her husband; and a step-son, Billy D. Ades.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The service will be at 10 a.m. March 27 at Eastlawn Cemetery
in Zimmerdale, where she will be buried.
Memorials may be made to Schowalter Villa in care of the
funeral home.
