Frieda Franz
Frieda Franz, 83, of 507 W. 23rd in North Newton, a homemaker, died today (Dec. 2, 1991) at Newton Medical Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Mennonite Church in Newton with the Revs. Jim Dunn and Verney Unruh officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Franz was born July 24, 1908, in Hillsboro to Henry S. and Sara Flaming Schroeder. She married Marvin Franz Sept. 20, 1931, in Newton. He died in 1988.
She was a member of the First Mennonite Church and lived most of her life in this area.
Survivors include two sons, Dalice of Newton and Dennis of Hesston; a daughter, Sharon Bender; two brothers, Pete Schroeder of Newton and Arlo Schroeder of Valley Center; two sisters, Martha McCloud of Marion and Hilda Evans of Three Rivers, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen's Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Commission on Overseas Mission.
