Obituary

Betty Lou Gustafson passed away at the age of 90 on April 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 30, 1927, to Wilbur and Inga Martin in Bathgate, North Dakota. She graduated from Fargo Central High School and went on to get her Bachelors in Education from Moorehead State College in Minnesota.

On Dec. 27, 1950, she married Neil Gustafson in Fargo, North Dakota. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Robert Gustafson (Ann Gustafson), Janet Robinson (Paul Robinson) and David Gustafson. They were married for 63 years, until Neil's death in 2014.

Betty was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church and the Lydia Circle for many years, and treasured the friendships she made there. She was also a member of Chapter AG PEO in Newton. They lived in Newton for 25 years before moving to Overland Park in 1994.

Betty is survived by her children and six grandchildren: Jennifer, John, Michael, Mackenzie, Samuel and Calahan. She loved having her grandchildren over to her house to teach them how to make traditional Norwegian desserts at Christmastime.
