Lola M. Baker
Lola M. Baker, 79, of Newton,
passed away Wednesday (June 18, 2008) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. She
was born June 12, 1929, in Wichita to Samuel Richard and Liza Jane (Sawyer)
Miller. They preceded her in death. She married Frank Milligan on Feb. 20,
1947. He preceded her in death. She then married Jim Baker, and they were later
divorced. He preceded her in death. She was a member of First Baptist Church in
Newton. She worked as a homemaker and at the Bethel Hospital laundry.
She enjoyed volunteering at
Bethel Hospital and the Salvation Army. She enjoyed spending time visiting with
her friends.
Survivors include power of
attorney, Ethelyn Branum of Newton, and brother, Jack Adler of Welch, Okla.
She also was preceded in
death by an infant brother.
Visitation will be from 5 to
9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Graveside service will be at
3:30 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, with Pastor Terry Tariela of
First Baptist Church in Newton officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery.
