Warren 'Butch' Baumgartner

KENT, Wash. - Warren Louis Baumgartner, 62, passed away Aug. 14, 2007, after a courageous eight-month battle with cancer. He was born in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1963. He married Carol Johnson in 1964 before moving to Seattle, Wash., to work for Boeing.

After raising two daughters and assorted "adopted" kids, years of volunteer work in every aspect of his life, church involvement, and gathering love and respect along the way, he retired from a successful career as director at Boeing Computer Services in 2001.

Survivors include his wife of Covington, Wash.; daughter Chris Kaatz, Ward Kaatz, Nick Kaatz, Christine (Kaatz) Johnson and Ben Johnson, all of Kent, Wash.; daughter Jill Hart, Derek Hart and Megan and Miranda Hart, all of Auburn, Wash.; brothers, Les Baumgartner of Newcastle, Wash., and Bob Baumgartner of Newton; a sister Cathy Hirsch of Riverside, Calif., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
