Obituary

Pamalee M. Corrigan, 93, died Friday (Nov. 9, 2018) at home in Newton. She was born Jan. 13, 1925, in El Dorado to Gus and Florence May (Kuller) Thompson. On May 31, 1946, she married Robert T. Corrigan in Great Bend. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2006.

The love of Pamalee's life was her husband, Robert. Pamalee worked beside him for many years on their farm near Haviland. She looked forward to spending time with Robert and the many drives they took together. Robert and Pamalee proudly built their home together in Pratt. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many.

Pamalee was the owner of the former Furniture Manor in Pratt. She was a sharp, articulate business woman, a detail-oriented bookkeeper and enjoyed taking care of her customers. She was a longtime member of the PIlot Club women's group in Pratt.

Pamalee had a love for oil painting and displayed her many landscapes and other paintings in her home. She spent a great deal of time documenting the Corrigan family history. Pamalee was a keen bird watcher and shared that love with her family. In her later years, Pamalee became an avid reader, a regular QVC shopper and loved to reminisce about her life.

She is survived by her son, Robert R. and his wife, Ann Corrigan, of Holden, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Patricia M., and her husband, Dale L. Olsen, of Bastrop, Texas; and her granddaughter, Gina R. Corrigan, her husband, Scott A. Burns, and great-grandson, Grayson L. Williams, her caretakers of Newton. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tracy and Claire N. Corrigan of Austin, Texas, David and Beth Wenciker, and Jeffery and Kari-Lynn Wenciker; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pamalee is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to thank her dedicated, loving caregivers: Almeda Martinez, Brenda Dalton and Wendy Williams.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 13, 2018) at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Graveside committal service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2018) at Haviland Cemetery in Haviland, with Pastor John Hamm presiding.
