Edith L. Barkman
TOPEKA -- Edith L. Barkman, 72, of
Topeka died Wednesday (Sept. 7, 2005). She raised her children in
Newton, where she was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and
served as a Girl Scout leader. In 1970, she moved to Topeka where she
was a member of the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded
in death by her daughter, Gwen Barkman. Survivors included her
companion Larry Laible of Topeka; daughters Susan Smith of Wichita,
Becky Jantz of Newton and Rachael Paz of Redmond, Wash.; son William
Barkman; and four grandchildren.
Burial will be 2 p.m. at Restlawn
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be made to
the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene and sent in care of Davidson
Funeral Home, Topeka.
